Death of a Xbox 360

Yes, thats right... my Xbox 360 died two days ago. On the two week mark before the launch of Halo 3. I cried. It was horrible. If you care to watch my misery I posted it on YouTube and will link it to this page. All thanks to the stupid Call of Duty 4 beta. Darn thing.

I received the beta key to play the new Call of Duty 4 muliplayer beta earlier that day. I downloaded it and actually got to play it for around an hour or so. As far as the game goes, its top notch. The maps on the demo were a bit smaller than some of the maps in CoD3 but still very fun and addicting. About half way through a team deathmatch it froze. I thought, "No biggie. Its a demo. It happens sometimes." So I booted it back up and started playing again. Not 10 minutes into the game it freezes again. I became a little more worried, but turned it off and gave it a couple of minutes of rest. Afterwards I hit the on button to start it back up. And waited for about 15 seconds for it to boot up, but it never did. Then BOOM!! THE 3 RINGS OF DEATH!!!! I nearly fell apart. I've had it not quite a year so I didn't think it would give out so soon. Not to mention 2 WEEKS BEFORE HALO 3.

So I called Microsoft support and they're supposed to send me a box to send the Xbox 360 into them. It will take 3-4 weeks to get it back. Thats not what I wanted to hear. But what can you do? I really don't want to do the towel trick just because it might void my warrenty, and god knows I don't want to spend money to get the damned thing fixed. The fact that it is still covered by my warranty is the only good thing I can see in this.

So those of you who will be playing Halo 3 on Sept. 25th enjoy it. Play an extra game or two for me. Its the best satisfaction I'll be able to get for two or three weeks.

I'm Back

Well after a few months of not posting ANYTHING I've decided to give this blog another run. I know I'm not the most attentive person in the world, but I think I'll actually try to keep this thing going for a while. I'm sure everyone has been missing me (yeah, that was sarcasm) but I'll try to make up for it and keep posting on a regular basis. Sound fair? Good. I thought so too. So if you've checked this blog in the past few months and wanted more, by golly your gonna get it!

Forza Motorsport 2

Forza 2 includes everything from Corvettes to Lamborghinis and includes many of the favorite features from the Xbox version of the game. However, the jump to 360 has also brought a few changes. The racing assists have been upgraded, the line that guides players along the sweet spot of the track dynamically changes color from green to red to show drivers when to break and accelerate, and the physics engine from the first game has also been rebuilt boasting about 360 calculations per second that contribute to exactly how the car reacts to the road.

Guitar Hero II out for Xbox 360!

Well guys and gals, its finally here. For all of you Xbox owners who have groaned and moaned about the PS2 gamers hogging all the Guitar Hero fun, your prayers have finally been answered! Coming in a good long time after the PS2 version hit the store shelves, the Xbox 360 version is well worth the added wait. It has brand new features exclusively for the 360 and will also support Xbox Live leaderboards and downloadable content through the marketplace. Its new overall sleek style and looks will have fans of the PS2 version whining and complaining. For experts from the old versions of the game, or from noobs, everyone can find something to enjoy in this game. My advise: check it out!

Xbox 360 Elite Comming Soon!

The Xbox gets a new look and a HUGE memory expansion!

HD nerds and Xbox fanboys, the moment you've been waiting for: the Xbox 360 Elite we alerted you about way back when it was just called the Zephyr has finally been announced. As we previously mentioned, it will be black, it will have HDMI, and it will have a 120GB drive (it'll also come bundled with a one month Xbox Live trial) for $479. Unfortunately, also as mentioned before, it's not going to have the new 65nm CPUs, it still doesn't have integrated WiFi (Xbox said it's because a study showed the majority of their customers use Ethernet to connect -- huh?), and it won't have an integrated HD DVD drive (not that we expected otherwise).

Microsoft did make some marketing decisions since our sources spilled the beans on this thing though: it's not going to be limited edition, as we previously had. Instead, the Elite will be a permanent SKU, the third and top-tier Xbox device. On the solo 120GB drive side of things, that unit will cost $179, and will come with a cable and software to migrate from your old 20GB drive. (MSFT wasn't yet sure if that kit would be sold separately for new Elite users -- sounds like it will be though, and will be priced very reasonably).

First Blog Day

Hello, how is everyone? Well this is my first time to ever use a blog (other than a few random ones on myspace) so everyone go easy on me. I thought I'd just start posting some stuff I'd either been thinking about or just some random thoughts going in and out of this crazy head of mine. They aren't always crazy, just most of the time :)

Today was a good day all in all. I stayed up till about 3 in the morning typing a essay for my comp II class. Of course that was really my fault because Payback was on TBS and it was hard to keep my concentration on the paper while Mel Gibson was kill all the bad guys, lol. All I had to do other than that was turn it in today, so I didn't really do that much. That's one reason it was a good day. I got some Burger King for lunch and came home afterwards. Oh yeah, my dad finally helped me find the motorcycle battery charger we bought so I was able to charge it up and ride my motorcycle to work for our meeting today. Once a month we have a employee appreciation night where we go over what we need to work on, what we did right, get prizes, and play games for awhile at work. Its usually pretty fun. I also kinda had a second hidden agenda by taking my bike to the meeting. Well, first you probably need to know that there is a girl that I work with that I sorta have a crush on. Its not a secret anymore anyways. Basically, I asked her on a date and long story short, it never really worked out. I'll post about all that another time, I promise. Dang, where was I...ah yeah, the meeting. I told her a long time ago that she had to come ride with me sometime. She said she would, so I'm still waiting on that day. Thought today could be that day, but she had to leave right after the meeting. She told me why, but I can't recall for some reason. Usually I remember things she says...but oh well. I stayed around for a little while and played games with some of the other employees there. I should probably explain about that too. I've been working there for over two years now, so I consider everyone there my friend. So from now on I'll just refer to them as that. I rode around a little while before I came home, but that was about it. Just another day in the life of me, lol.

I think I'll try to do this as my daily (or at least semi-daily) routine for awhile now. I'll post some kind of introduction then describe my day and at the end post any random or profound thoughts. Of course I won't limit myself to just one post a day if I feel like adding something else but hopefully that will be my plan. Just thought I'd spell this out for any of you reading this. I'm sure not many, if any, people will read this, but I like to think some might :)

So, random thoughts of the day...or the last few seconds. Oh, I know one. Has anyone seen that new Skittles commercial? The one were the Indian looking guy trades a bag of Skittles for the singins rabbit? I LOVE that commercial, lol. Its great! The rabbit even bites the guy at the end, lol. Couldn't make a better commercial than that. Sigh...so funny. Hmm...trying to think of something else, but it seems to no avail. I had hoped this par would be the largest section of my blog. Ah well, I guess I have plenty of time to get everything down. If you wanted to know what I'm doing at the moment, I'm watching some anime show on Adult Swim. I'm not sure what its called, but it's actually not a bad show. I've watched bits and pieces of it the last three nights, and normally I'm not that big on anime but this one is definately interesting. Wow, one of the characters just said the word 'interesting' the same second I typed it, lol. That was funny. This show and Inyu Yasha are about the only two anime shows that I kinda like. Although I did watch Afro Samurai the other night and it wasn't bad. Oh well, just thought I'd put that in here. I think I've run out of ideas for the moment so I guess I'll go ahead and end this blog. Thanks for stickin with me for this long! Peace.
